FKA Twigs announces new EP and drops 16-minute video
Twigs is featured in four of the five accompanying videos, directing them herself and “cementing who she is as an artist with an aggressive statement conceptualising the process of feeling pregnant with pain, birthing creativity and liberation”, per a release.
Stream the EP here, and check out the tracklist, videos, and album art below. It will also be pressed on 12-inch vinyl. “It’s a miracle if we’re still alive”, twigs sings over glitchy electronics and brash synthesizers, exploring the full range of her malleable voice. In one bit set to “I’m Your Doll“, her head sits atop a blow up doll while a man enjoys the plastic. I’m Your Doll 3. I won’t spoil it for you, but it’s a performance that explores sex, intimacy, emotion and gender, and the more you watch, the better it gets, unfolding ever more. In Time 4. Glass & Patron 5.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, FKA Twigs dropped “Glass & Patron,” the first single off the EP, this past March.
M3LL155X follows the singer’s acclaimed debut LP, 2014’s LP1. Arising mostly from a spontaneous creative period shortly after the release of her debut album LP1, the EP features both old and new collaborations including BOOTS and longer-term collaborators tic and Cy An.
