University of Michigan Football team’s Facebook page hacked
About an hour after the statement from officials at University of Michigan was posted, both Facebook pages were hacked again with posts showing racy pictures of women.
No word yet on who might have hacked the page.
Several links started appearing on the team’s verified page around 3 a.m. Wednesday. As of 8:00am, the posts were still there.
“Thanks to diligent work on behalf of our partners at @UMich and at Facebook, we have resolved the situation and deleted any offensive posts”, the University posted.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate the support of our audiences throughout this issue”.
The Facebook page has more than 1.4 million fans.
“We are continuing to work closely with Facebook to identify the source of the breach and take necessary precautions to safeguard against future attacks”, she said. The social media managers and information technology staff of the University of Michigan will be dreading it as well.
UM associate athletics director Kurt Svoboda told the Detroit Free Press Wednesday morning that the school was investigating the matter and trying to resolve the issue.
Oh, and for the record, the Dr. Saturday Facebook page has not been hacked and is full of only top-notch content.
