Hillary Clinton Requested Book With Tips On How To Delete Emails
Host Mika Brzezinski asked O’Malley about the news that Clinton had handed her email server over to federal investigators: “What do you make of this ongoing saga or coverage or ‘nonsense, ‘ as the Clinton campaign would call it, pertaining to Hillary Clinton’s e-mail?”
The emails it once contained were shifted onto a different server in June 2013 after Clinton tapped a Denver company to manage the system, according to a report from the Washington Post.
She said what the Federal Bureau of Investigation wants to do with the server “is up to them”.
A day after Hillary Rodham Clinton turned her personal email server over to the Justice Department, her campaign assured supporters that the Democratic presidential candidate did not send classified information over her private account.
“She knows she did something wrong and has run out of ways to cover it up”, Priebus said.
In March, Clinton said she exchanged about 60,000 emails in her four years in the Obama administration, about half of which were personal and were discarded. The emails were not marked as classified when they were written, and Clinton has repeatedly denied ever sending or receiving classified information. She also surrendered the rest because they were related to State Department business. The Clinton campaign’s decision to give up the server and a thumb-drive containing back-up copies of emails left Democrats scratching their heads as to why the former secretary of State had resisted turning over the server for months.
The new information raises the Clinton email scandal to a whole new level, including criminal conspiracy – all in the span of a single day.
Also Tuesday, Republican Sen. Two emails found on Clinton’s server were classified as “Top Secret”.
A referral from the inspector general of the intelligence community to the Justice Department that led to the current investigation did not allege any criminal wrongdoing, and Clinton’s attorney has said federal authorities simply want assurances that the emails continue to be properly stored.
The State Department claims the e-Mails containing classified information were not sent by Secretary Clinton, but merely “circulated” by lower level employees in Ys 2009 and 2011, and spokesman John Kirby said, “ultimately some were forwarded to Secretary Clinton”.
If Clinton had a backup, the type likely would be specified in her contract with the company that provided the server, Reid said.
Napolitano told Kelly that FBI investigators will look to see if the emails had the correct classification markings when Clinton received them. The statement, which carries her signature and was signed under penalty of perjury, echoed months of Clinton’s past public statements about the matter.
