LG announces the new curved sound bar to match your curved TV
Featuring multiple speakers, all strategically positioned within the cabinet, the LG Curved Sound Bar offers an “exceptional audio experience”, according to the company. This allows users to not only connect traditional hard-wired sources like a TV, but also utilize Wi-Fi to stream music from iOS or Android devices, PCs, Macs, or Chromebooks over Google Cast.
The HS8 Curved Sound Bar is a 360W 4.1 channel system that is split between left, right and two center speakers, backed up by a wireless subwoofer.
Other features for the LAS855M include HDMI passthrough for easy connection of components like game consoles or Blu-ray players through the bar, Bluetooth wireless connection, compatibility with TV remotes from eight manufacturers, and LG’s i-Sound mode, which auto-adjusts DSP in accordance with the sound source.
The LG Curved Sound Bar will be available at U.S. retailers in October at a suggested price of $699. Simply select the content you want to play from your smartphone and cast it to the HS8 for a lounder sound.
Like other Music Flow soundbars, the LAS855M can be used with any pair of Music Flow speakers to create a home theater system in which the speakers deliver discrete surround effects. There’s also support for Google Cast, which makes the sound bar a multi-purpose wireless speaker. HS8 also has a i-Sound mode.
“Our new premium Curved Sound Bar is the flawless complement to our stunning curved OLED TVs and offers consumers the best home entertainment experience with attractive devices that look as great as they perform”, said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA.
The soundbar measures 1200 x 43 x 82mm and is wall mountable, so you’ll be able to sling it under your TV for a matching finish.
The LG Music Flow HS8 will be displayed during IFA at the LG stall.
