Skype for Business is now available on your mobile device
In a blog post by Jared Goralnick, principal group program manager for the Skype for Business team, Microsoft announced the preview of the new Skype for Business apps for iOS and Android.
Windows Phone owners already have access to a new Skype for Business app, which launched last month. The mobile app will feature a central dashboard from which the user can search for contacts, check for and RSVP to upcoming meetings and dig through past archived conversations.
Since Skype demonstrated that it is the most reliable resource for online calls, it would be no surprise if people running businesses will pick up its new business app. There’s now an easier way to switch from text to video and back because both options are now visible at once. Larger buttons make it easier to mute, add participants and manage your call. As well as making it easy to navigate contacts, calls and meetings, and updated the In-Call and In-Meeting experience. On iOS, your phone contacts are also included in the search.
Enterprise adoption of Microsoft’s Skype for Business has experienced a steady climb in its market rank and is anticipated to be one of the top three solutions for telephony services by 2016, according to Gartner estimates.
Skype for Business hit the market in April this year and its aim was to replace Lync.
