Kevin Hart and Ice Cube reunite in ‘Ride Along 2’ trailer

“We gotta stick together and all that s-“.

Ben Barber (Kevin Hart) has achieved his life-long dream of becoming a cop alongside his veteran brother-in-law James Peyton (Ice Cube) and he’s just a much as the bumbling law enforcer you’d expect him to be. “You need to get me something on this guy”. “He’s cocky”. The trailer starts out looking like a Fast & Furious entry (right down to a Tyrese Gibson cameo) before introducing a Miami drug plot, a wedding planning subplot, and second pissed-off cop played by Munn. “She and Kevin have a power struggle”, says Cube. Kevin’s a little too nosy.

Ice Cube is also looking to have a big weekend at the box office this weekend with the release of the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, which will be in theaters this Friday (Aug. 14).

Director Tim Story returns to the franchise with a script penned by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. “The challenge was to make a whole ‘nother movie”. Nearly two years later and now we have Ride Along 2, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be much better than the original. We wanted to turn up the comedy, do things people haven’t seen.

He adds: “I think people gone dig it”.
