Boot Camp now updated with Windows 10 support
If you’re a Mac user and you’re dying to give Windows 10 a whirl, then you’re in luck, because Apple has revealed that it’ll be adding support for Windows 10 in Bootcamp really soon. The program automatically downloads the support software needed to use the newest Microsoft operating system when using the Boot Camp Assistant.
It’s not that hard to install Windows on a Mac, Apple actually provides its own tool for this objective called Boot Camp.
Apple reminded users that only Macs with Intel processors work with Boot Camp, a requirement since the multi-boot utility debuted in 2006.
Windows 10 is available to purchase for $119.
If you’re using Boot Camp and just installed Windows 10, you might want to snag this.
Boot Camp 6 is supported on Macs ranging all the way back to 2012.
Boot Camp also supports certain features of your Mac in Windows 10, including USB 3, USB-C on the MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), the Mac’s Thunderbolt high-speed port, the built-in SD or SDXC card slot, your built-in or USB Apple SuperDrive and of course, your Apple keyboard, trackpad and mouse.
Most Mac computers released within the last few years should be supported, this includes iMacs, Macbook Pros, the Macbook Air and the Mac Pro. Upgrading from 64-bit Windows 7 or 8.1 is free.
At the end of the support document, Apple took a moment to plug its software, reminding Mac users that they can download iTunes for Windows to play music and videos.
