Thankfully, theyre aiming to boost things back up in the future, and theyre bringing in some of the biggest comedic names in the networks recent history to do it, with projects in the works from 30 Rocks Tina Fey and Parks and Recreations Mike Schur.
There are graveyard populations that are more active than NBCs current comedy output, which basically consists of Undateable and the forgettable Mr. Working with 30 Rock co-creator Robert Carlock and Emmy-winning writer Tracey Wigfield, Fey’s new comedy, about “a mother-daughter relationship that is challenged when an overly involved New Jersey mom gets an internship at her daughter’s workplace, a cable news network”, received a pilot order from We Peacock Comedy.
Will you check the series out whenever it heads to the network? The news was announced by NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt during a TCA event Thursday. The 13-episode series hails from Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Schur’s Fremulon. Robinson, with The Carmichael Show premiering soon. Im all about broadcast networks taking on high-concept projects, and Schur also has great series like The Office, Saturday Night Live and The Comeback on his resume.
This marks the return of Schur and Fey & Carlock to NBC after their latest series from Uni TV landed elsewhere, Brooklyn Nine-Nine at Fox and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at Netflix. Since that time, Tina Fey has gone on to author a best selling book, produce and star in multiple film projects, produce and write the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and host the Golden Globes with real life BFF Amy Poehler. Originally from Virginia, Miller is a writer and actor in New York City. Writing team Aaron Colom and Adriano Valentini created Sunset PPL, which is about a group of friends with a set of rules they hope will lead them to success. Colom and Valentini have collaborated on numerous short films and web series.
