Harry Kane warns Premier League defenders: ‘I won’t stop scoring’
Harry Kane cleverly chipped a pass in to Christian Eriksen, who brilliantly cushioned the ball with his head only to lift a delicate shot just over the crossbar.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to use a tough opening fixture away to Manchester United to avenge one of his team’s worst defeats of last season, he said today.
“No worries about that and the people won’t worry about the team because we have a lot of good players that can play like a striker”. “It was very different from last season when we didn’t have a chance, but this time we deserved not only a draw but maybe even a win”.
“Who’s the top four?” he said.
The Spurs manager also insists that midfielder Mousa Dembele has a future at White Hart Lane.
Spurs are going into the season light upfront but Kane is relishing being the club’s main striker and is ready for all the pressure and challenges that come with his new status. “I think we have very ambitious players now, the younger ones in the group, like Harry”. We’re at a good level and we need to believe.
Since taking over at Spurs, Pochettino has sacked his translator from his previous club Southampton and learnt how to speak English which is always handy in the English Premier League.
Kane, 22, is raring to go again after a much-needed summer break that helped him take stock following his fairytale 2014/15 when everything he touched turned to goals.
“If you can do it in England and Europe, you are doing it in the best competitions in the world”. Harry Kane was rested against AC Milan in mid-week and is expected to spearhead the attack in a very familiar Spurs line-up. The young forward already has a strong relationship with Kane given their shared England experiences for the Under-21s, while the team is in dire need of the pace he brings to the table.
Pochettino’s first year in charge at Spurs saw them secure a fifth-place finish, but they never really looked like qualifying for the Champions League and ended up 23 points adrift of champions Chelsea.
Louis van Gaal simply holds all the aces and I think it will be a relatively straightforward start to the campaign for the Red Devils.
