British acts progress to semi-finals of America’s Got Talent
Their opinion must’ve carried some sway, as home viewers voted to instantly save the young performer. They left an impression on the huge audience filling Radio City Music Hall, and on the judges. Stern thought Tuesday’s performance lacked the comedy that distinguished the magician from the others in the competition and made him a favorite of both the fans and judges. This time Alondra was accompanied by a group of dancers and backup singers, and even added some choreography to her performance of Selena’s Spanish classic, “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom”. The sad news for her is that she went after Paul, who was arguably the best of the night, and we have heard similar singers before. She did some daring stunts and impressive tricks to the song “Bang Bang” by Cher.
Heidi: She liked it a lot and calls her a superhero. They have been additionally joined by their fellow judicial judge Howie Mandel & host of the programme Nick Cannon. Next week is more performances and live results.
Mel B: She thinks they are cute, but repetitive. Mel B noted the act was “jam-packed full of creativity” and didn’t want it to stop. Piff the Magic Dragon and Triple Threat step forward for their results. He uses some boxes for the trick. Enough votes for them are still unpredictable as no one knows them. The act got mixed reviews.
And Klum, explaining how “unique” she found Lynch at his audition, said she now had to judge him like she would any other comedian. Howard strongly disagreed, declaring it the “best act of the night”.
Benton Blount – We’re not going to say that Benton is going to set the Billboard charts on fire tomorrow, but in between his story, personality, and giving a very solid performance of “Say Something”, he’s done enough to advance.
Craig and Micheline stepped on the stage to deliver their “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) Season 10 (2015) Quarterfinal performance. Howard loved the precision and strength involved in the act, but wondered whether it would resonate with America. He even won the Golden Buzzer from Howie Mandel, which means Lynch moves straight to the live show rounds. His act consisted jokes about a service dog. Four standing ovations came, “Wowsa, wowsa, WOW” coming from Mel B, and Howard now saying “best performance”.
Showproject took the stage next.
Paul Zerdin: Ever since watching Batman the Animated Series as a child, I’ve had a deeply rooted fear of ventriloquists and all puppets who do not have the Jim Henson stamp of approval.
