Paul Rudd wants to be Lego man
In Marvel’s “Ant-Man”, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) gains the ability to shrink in size to be as small as an ant. Making that ant-sized world feel real and tactile proved to be one of the most important challenges the film’s creators need to overcome. If there’s one thing Marvel Studios does well, it’s pump out a entertaining blockbusters.
PCT has more about Ant-Man in our June “Rearview” department. Yet because there are still three weeks left, because Jurassic World and Inside Out have all the current buzz and there’s still Ted 2, Terminator Genisys and Minions to clear through, “interest could still improve in the weeks ahead”.
And perhaps this shouldn’t be a big surprise.
“Ant-Man is one of the best examples of how a movie can do both”.
The entertainment juggernaut that is Marvel-underneath-Disney does not have anything contributing to their cinematic universe until Ant-Man on July 17.
“My response is: Look at the movies”. Captain America joined the team in the fourth issue.
“I’m doing physical things that I haven’t done in films before”. Feige did not reveal who is playing the character but he did state that the female superhero will be seen in action.
Take a look at the posters below. Feige explained: “We don’t exactly say”.
Ultimately, though, this week has been all about Spider-Man in the Marvel PR department. Besides that, Feige teased that other Marvel characters could appear in that movie.
“We’re producing it for Sony. A softer, more intimate #Marvel movie and a great family film”.
These two new TV spots, released in America over the weekend and coming to you now via the magic of YouTube, would suggest that we’re in for another pretty entertaining ride. But with each success, we’re always left to wonder when will Marvel will finally slip up and deliver a dud. “That’s the thing about a movie like this; there’s so much stuff going on that the life could get drained out”.
But what people say in a boardroom and how it plays out on the set can be wildly different, and it will be every interesting to see how it plays out.
I think it will happen sooner rather than later, without giving too much away. It is the tagline in the latest extended TV spot (or really a mini-trailer) for Marvel’s Ant-Man.
