Fitbit Universal Windows app for Windows 10 supports all your devices
The health-focused firm has rocked out a universal app for Microsoft’s new OS, which will also come to Xbox One and Windows 10 Mobile when those versions are rolled out later in 2015. The Windows 10 app tracks steps, activity, exercise, food, weight, and sleep to help users reach fitness goals. The redesigned live tiles will now show you more data than before and the new types of notifications will let you access data instantly.
Notification center now consolidates all users’ important notifications and messages in a dedicated tab making it effortless to review progress, or stay motivated with cheers, taunts and encouragements from friends and family. This could enable indoor navigation, such as known what floor of the parking garage you parked your vehicle on, weather forecasting, or more detailed health and fitness tracking.
The company has just rolled out a new Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10512. For instance, you can say “Fitbit, I went for a three-mile run” or “Fitbit, I ate chicken for dinner” for easier food and activity logging.
The update brings enhanced syncing with Bluetooth across all Windows 10 devices with supported hardware.
Fitbit, the maker of the much-loved range of fitness trackers of the same name, has released a killer companion app for Windows 10.
One of the best things about Windows 10 is that it is designed to work on anything you have from your computer to your smartphone or tablet.
Build 10512 became available on Wednesday to Windows Insider testers on the “fast ring”, announced Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program and vice president of engineering in Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, in a blog post.
