Cancer stricken dog gets final chance to play in the snow
The owners of Sophia, a giant, lovable St. Bernard, got heartbreaking news two months ago when their beloved dog was diagnosed with a terminal case of bone cancer.
It’s always heartbreaking to lose a family pet, and we just want to make their last days the happiest and most fun we possibly can. Sophia looked as care-free as a puppy as she rubbed her face in the snow and explored the park with her half-brother Yogi.
When she arrived, their efforts proved worthwhile as Sophia, who had noticeably deteriorated, frolicked in the snow and enjoyed herself.
Six-year-old Sophia was taken to the Chill Factore indoor ski centre in Manchester as her owner attempted to give her the ideal send-off. Page explained that she would have paid whatever it took to treat Sophia, but doctors just said to make the 6-year-old dog comfortable. We went through years of infertility, so she has been a big support for me and I wanted something special for her.
According to Mashable, Page said Sophia hasn’t shown interest in anything recently, so it was nice to see her so happy.
“She’s a massive part of our life and I can’t even begin to say how much we’re going to miss her, but it’s made me happy knowing that she’s had such a wonderful day today”.
Right before Sophia was scheduled to be put down, Chill Factore replied back to Page saying she was welcome to bring Sophia over for one last snow day. “We are huge animal lovers at Chill Factore, so we were pleased that we could do something to help on this occasion”, said Morwenna Angove, the CEO of Chill Factore.
