Missouri woman sues Lambert’s Cafe for getting hit with a ‘throwed roll’
Lambert’s is known as the “Home of Throwed Rolls”, as servers toss dinner rolls to guests across the dining room. She is suing the chain, which sports the slogan “Home of Throwed Rolls”, claiming she “sustained a lacerated cornea with a vitreous detachment and all head, neck, eyes and vision were severely damaged”.
The restaurant, famous for throwing dinner rolls, is accused of inadequately training employees on how to avoid injuring customers. The lawsuit says she incurred medical bills of approximately $10,000. She is requesting $25,000 from the restaurant.
The suit claims Lambert’s and its employees “knew or should have known that by throwing bread rolls at customers there was a possible risk of injury for diners”.
FOX 4 spoke with the law firm representing Tucker on Thursday, and they identified Tucker as a woman, not a male as Johnny Fugitt of the River Front Times reported.
For those who have never experienced a “throwed roll” at Lambert’s, we found a clip to help you better understand what happens.
In fact, this isn’t the first time a person has been injured by flying food.
Fugitt said in that case, the “baseball rule” was referenced, and that by voluntarily entering a baseball stadium the victim assumed some responsibility for personal awareness.
Her lawyer, William Meehan of St. Louis, told Heartland News Tucker was visiting Lambert’s Cafe last September with a Bible group.
