Journey drummer Deen Castronovo now charged with rape after arrest
A new report from TMZ says that the charges against the drummer for a June 14 incident at his home in Salem, OR have been dramatically increased.
Charges of rape and other crimes have since been added, including unlawful use of a weapon and second-degree sexual abuse, according to CBS affiliate KOIN.
Castronovo is being held without bail in Marion County, Oregon.
Earlier this month, he was arrested in Salem, OR, for domestic violence of an unidentified woman (believed to be his wife). He has been barred from having contact with the woman he allegedly assaulted.
Deen Castronovo, drummer of Journey, was arrested for assault following a domestic dispute two weeks ago.
The 50-year-old rocker, who has been with Journey since 1998, was arrested on June 14.
The drummer is set to appear in court on Tuesday at 3 p.m. He is scheduled to enter a plea Tuesday afternoon.
This is not the first such incident for Castronovo.
Following the investigation, Castronovo was accused of first-degree rape, second-degree sexual abuse and fourth-degree assault.
In that case Castronovo was ordered to perform 80 hours of community service and attend anger-management classes as part of a diversion agreement.
