Lindsey Vonn Fractures Ankle During Training In New Zealand
Lindsey Vonn reportedly had an accident while training in New Zealand on Thursday and has fractured a bone in her ankle, according to Christof Stace of MSN. The tweet reads “Unfortunately I crashed today and have a small fracture in my ankle”.
She was heading home to Vail, Colorado, to have the ankle examined further.
Just hours before she broke her ankle, Lindsey Vonn posted a video of herself skiing down a mountain with the hashtag #ilovemyjob.
Vonn holds the all-time women’s record for World Cup victories with 67, and she took gold and bronze in the downhill and super-G, respectively, at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
Vonn has bounced back this year to become the downhill and super-G world champion, but she must now overcome another obstacle.
Vonn had her ACL fixed for a second time in January 2014, sidelining her for the Sochi Olympics.
Lindsey Vonn said that she is now returning to America. Vonn has already competed at three Olympic Games and has one a single Olympic gold medal.
On her Twitter account Vonn said it was a minor setback.
