Laurie Holden has dropped out of Chicago Fire’s medical drama spinoff
Holden played Dr. Hannah Tramble, a fearless, brilliant ER surgeon whose tough as nails childhood has given her a dark edge.
Added Holden: “I am so grateful to Dick Wolf, my fellow cast members, NBC and the entire “Chicago Med” team for their understanding”. “A lot of work goes into it, a lot of people pitch in, but the end result, we’re really, really proud of what we come up with and hope to continue that for sure going forward”.
As to plans for a fourth Chicago drama, Wolf did not rule it out but suggested it was contingent on Chicago Med launching successfully. “Yeah, there’s a four-way crossover with [the] three Chicago shows and SVU – the jumbo crossover, never before done”, co-creator Matt Olmstead said at the Television Critics Association fall previews on Thursday.
Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead know Laurie Holden as Andrea.
Catch the premiere of “Chicago Med” on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 10:00 PM on NBC.
Chicago Med, the latest offshoot in Wolf’s Chicago franchise is described as an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city’s “most explosive hospital”. The show will add three new females roles to the show including an emergency pediatrician, a charge nurse and a young first-year resident. Her other credits include recurring roles on “Major Crimes“, “The Shield” and “The X-Files”. Cast members from “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire” will frequently appear.
With Holden gone, the remaining cast of Chicago Med is now comprised of S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order), Yaya DaCosta (Ugly Betty), Nick Gehlfuss (Shameless), Oliver Platt (Fargo), Colin Donnell (Arrow), and Brian Tee (Grimm).
Sadly, Laurie Holden has decided to move on from Chicago Med after filming just the pilot episode.
