Ariana Grande’s fans round on Wendy Williams after age comments
Which, I don’t mean that in a good way…
The controversial moment that has led to the uproar saw Williams take aim at Grande’s height, claiming that she can’t take her seriously as an adult due to the fact that ‘she looks 12’.
“Bullying is a big problem & its disgusting for the victim, and that audience laughing with her is what keeps bullying going”. It’s nice to look younger than you are, but when you look to young and then you’re short, she’s only 4ft 11.
Metro.co.uk have contacted a representative for The Wendy Williams Show for comment.
Within minutes the has hashtag began trending worldwide with other fans jumping to Grande’s’ defence.
Other comments included, “ariana: is against homophobia, animal abuse, sexism, racism… still she gets picked on cause she looks younger smh, ” and “as someone who has the exact same body as Ariana I feel really offended to be considered not a woman?”.
Grande yesterday landed at Haneda global airport, Tokyo, Japan ahead of her concert in Chiba as part of her tour.
Is Wendy Williams the true genesis of body-shaming culture, or she just an easy target when it exists in more subtle forms just about everywhere you look?
