Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015
Samsung has crammed the usual Edge features into the S6 Edge+, which basically means that not enough is made of that curved screen.
The new Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been released just five months after its predecessor saw the light of day.
Both models feature 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screens with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and 518ppi. Moreover, the phablet will be powered with 64-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos processor. We’ll let you know whether fast charging is supported by existing Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 chargers, or only via the official Samsung cabled charger, once we find out. (There are also rumours that battery life will get a boost, and that the front camera might improve to 5-megapixels). The S6 Edge+ is a much larger affair, with completely revamped internals to make this device a truly innovative powerhouse.
Samsung has announced its new Galaxy S6 Edge+, a 5.7-inch dual edged phone which is a larger variant of the popular and revolutionary Galaxy S6 Edge which was launched in March. The event where the two new smartphones will see the light of day is broadcasted live on Samsung’s website.
The rest of the Galaxy S6 edge+’s spec list is similar to the Galaxy Note 5’s. Stuff says the Note 5 will come with a high-res rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation. In terms of software, this device is shipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on top of latest TouchWiz UI.
At the Samsung Unpacked event today, Samsung formally announced the release of Samsung Pay, its own mobile payment solution stemming from its acquisition of LoopPay in February. They also support some unique accessories, including a keyboard cover that gives consumers option to use physical keyboard on their phone.
For only the first time, the Note line at Samsung is launching a device that has a bigger screen than the iPhone 6 Plus, which is 5.5 inches and its next generation likely called iPhone 6S Plus, that will debut in September.
