Tim Tebow listed as No. 4 QB on Eagles’ latest depth chart
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Tebow was viewed by many as a roster longshot when the Eagles signed him earlier this offseason, but recent reports have suggested that the former Florida Gator, Denver Bronco, New York Jet and New England Patriot has a real chance at sticking on Chip Kelly’s 53-man roster.
So far in practice, we’ve seen little [read: nothing] from the offense in terms of specially designed plays for Tebow, despite the fact that he’s looked better than most people expected.
On Friday, the Eagles announced its first unofficial depth chart and Tebow was indeed listed at quarterback – behind Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley.
The Bible autograph was just the latest of the interesting quirks that has surrounded Tebow ever since he turned pro in 2010. “He’s been doing this for a long time”. “He’s an arm we need for the team…. I’m trying to play fast, make the plays that come my way”.
I don’t entirely buy that, because if there are no special plans for how to use Tebow, then he doesn’t serve much of a goal on this team.
In theory, Tebow does offer something the other Eagles’ quarterbacks don’t: a capable two-point specialist, which could come in handy in light of the offseason rules changes regarding extra points.
Tim Tebow’s professional career might have suffered a fall from grace, but his faith still never waned. Check out the other HOF-ers on there!
While the QB hasn’t played a regular season match since 2012, his star hasn’t fainted yet and Tebowmania is still on.
Agholor, meanwhile, said going against cornerbacks like Maxwell can only help him improve faster. Maybe that will reveal itself throughout the course of their four preseason games, beginning Sunday against the Colts.
