Microsoft reveals the first smartphones which will get Windows 10 Mobile
Microsoft has today dropped a fresh Windows 10 update “package” (thats what folks at Redmond are calling it) which is basically a clubbing of all previously released updates, which were dished out to Windows Insiders.
We recently wrote about Cortana, the digital assistant, and how much it collects, and now Microsoft has updated its terms of service agreement to better clarify what it collects and how it uses such data.
That’s a little different than the situation we thought we were in, where it appeared as though your upgraded version of Windows 10 would keep the same licence type as the original OS.
Microsoft is warning of fake emails regarding Windows 10 downloads. Windows 10 also sees a return of the beloved start menu, the first holographic computing platform, and a “Continuum Mode” which allows you to seamlessly go between mobile and desktop.
According to a report by Windows Central, a Microsoft program manager revealed that the company is in fact, working to get WhatsApp Web support to Edge.
Though no backups would be required, as all your personal files will be kept intact, it is suggested that you have a backup of these files to be on a safer side, before embarking on the downgrade journey.
The good news may not be so good for the rest of Microsoft’s customers, who do not own a Lumia phone. The OS, which is a free upgrade has been adopted quickly by consumers with Microsoft touting that over 14 million machines had been upgraded in the first 24 hours after the OS was released.
There’s a new Windows 10 upgrade email scam going around that has the ability to take over your computer if you fall for it. One of my contacts said Microsoft is planning to deliver more cumulative update rollups possibly on a weekly basis at least for the first month of Windows 10 availability. The number of changes you receive depends on how recently you updated your device.
