Role of Parliament, SC, and military courts in combating terrorism exemplary: PM
The prime minister was speaking at a briefing given to him on the progress of work on the 60-kilometre six-lane dual carriage Hazara Motorway being constructed from Burhan to Havelian at a cost of Rs 22.34 billion.
Appreciating the role of Parliament, Supreme Court and the Military Courts in elimination of the scourge of terrorism from Pakistani soil, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday said the solution of all problems facing the country was possible only with the mutual cooperation of all institutions, while upholding the democratic values.
Moreover, the PM said that his government has already commenced to build a web of roads in Balochistan, which, he claimed, would bring about radical changes in the country.
The prime minister went on to say that a road linking Gilgit-Baltistan to Thakot is under construction, which will link Pakistan to China, and will be completed in two years.
The implementation of energy and infrastructure projects identified under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is taking place on a fast-track basis on both sides to translate the plans into reality.
He said communication links will be strengthened among regional countries.
“This is a huge project and will bring about progress and prosperity in the area through enhanced development activities, opening of schools, colleges, hospitals and help create job opportunities”, he maintained.
The project will be completed by December 2016 instead of March 2017 as per directions of the prime minister.
