Explosions rip through Texas chemical plant
The shelter in place order has been lifted. Firefighters also advised residents to turn off their air conditioners and keep doors and windows closed. The Conroe Police Department said the fire is at at the DrillChem plant located at 4301 N Loop 336 East near County Road 105.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Hazmat crews have not been called to the scene.
That may be because hazardous chemicals or materials could be involved and they do not want to endanger firefighters, Williams said.
Authorities knew of no injuries from the explosions and blaze that erupted about 4:30 p.m., said Conroe Fire Marshal Mike Legoudes.
DrillChem provides drilling products including lubricants and sealants, according to its website.

From Air 11, there did not appear to be any firefighters on the scene yet but fire trucks could be seen nearby.
The afternoon fire, which sent towering plumes of smoke that could be seen for miles, followed several explosions, KHOU reported citing Conroe police.
