Ducks sign Hagelin to four-year deal
Hagelin played in the 2014 Stanley Cup Final.
On Friday, they were finally able to come to terms on a new deal with Hagelin, signing him to a four-year contract extension through the end of the 2018-19 season.
The Ducks acquired Hagelin from the New York Rangers along with picks in the second and sixth rounds of the 2015 National Hockey League Draft on June 27 for left wing Emerson Etem and a second-round pick.
At the draft, general manager Bob Murray noted Hagelin adds a faster element to the game than then-unrestricted free agent forward Matt Beleskey.
“You see how we got beat”.
During the process, Anaheim committed a combined $24 million to two offseason acquisitions who have yet to suit up for the club: Hagelin and veteran defenseman Kevin Bieksa, acquired from Vancouver last month.
“I’m extremely excited to get over there and meet the guys”.
Carl Hagelin signed a four-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. “You look at the roster we have, there’s so many good players”.

“It’s an exciting time (for the Ducks)”, Hagelin said. “I just want to leave right now”.
This would be important for the Ducks, since they lost to the fleet-footed Blackhawks in the the Western Conference Final. Overall, the 26-year-old has 58 goals and 130 points in 266 games in the National Hockey League, all with the Rangers. The 6-0, 186-pound winger set career highs in games and shots, and matched a career best in goals in 2014-15. They could still have $8.3 million available under the cap to enter the season. He was a restricted free agent after joining the Ducks.
