Stoichkov: LVG will destroy Pedro
Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov has warned Pedro not to leave the Nou Camp.
Barcelona forward Pedro has been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer.
“I would never be under the orders of Van Gaal“, Stoichkov is reported as saying.
Manchester United could have a battle on their hands to sign Pedro following reports that bitter rivals City have entered the race for the Barcelona star.
“Van Gaal is destroying all the players because he was a mediocre player himself and a bad person”.
“I would never let Pedro leave, never, because if he goes there he will stop being a player”, he said.
Morgan Schneiderlin might not sell many shirts, but he is exactly the kind of player Van Gaal needed to anchor his central unit-particularly in the event of an injury to Michael Carrick. It’s not that the jersey weighed too heavily on the most expensive signing in Premier League history, but that it never really fitted him.
Although Depay failed to score on debut, his mazy runs and trickery brought United fans to the edge of their seats. He believes that Van Gaal is very “mediocre manager”. But we have talked enough about Pedro.
“Pedro’s future will be resolved shortly because there is not long to go until the transfer market closes”, the Barcelona coach told a press conference in Tbilisi. “Manchester? Yes, there are nice challenges on all sides”, Pedro added about the prospect of heading to Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old was omitted from Barcelona’s starting XI to take on Sevilla in the Uefa Super Cup and, explaining the decision, Fernandez revealed the player has made his wishes known. It was disastrous. He won 1-0 with an own goal and ended up happy. “I hope Pedro listens to me and he tells them (United) “I am staying at Barcelona”.
Stoichkov appeared to draw parallels with van Gaal’s time in Spain.
Robson compared the De Gea saga to that surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo who had his heart set on a move to Real from United but gave the English club a superb final season before finally moving on.
“I have said that in advance”.
