Manchester United target Pedro: I don’t want to leave Barcelona

Former Liverpool ace Javier Mascherano says he hopes Barcelona teammate Pedro rejects a move to Manchester United to remain at the Catalan club.

If Pedro does complete his move to Old Trafford on Wednesday, he’ll become van Gaal’s sixth major signing of the summer and I think it will prove to be an excellent piece of business.

“I would never be under the orders of Van Gaal“, the 49-year-old told

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has vowed to respect Pedro’s decision regardless of what the Spain worldwide opts to do, and has backed him to follow his heart amidst the speculation.

He said: “When there are rumours that I can leave it is not an easy situation for me”.

Van Gaal sold Stoichkov to CSKA Sofia 17 years ago, but the pain of leaving the Spanish giants is clearly still raw for the Bulgarian.

“He’s one of those players who are made for special occasions like these and is still with us for the time being”.

“He’s mediocre. He destroyed Barca and is destroying Manchester United“.

“He destroys clubs, he did it with Barcelona, and after they take years to build. He won 1-0 (against Tottenham) because of an own goal”.

“Barcelona don’t need money, whether it’s 20, 30, or 50 million”, he said.

Barcelona boss Enrique hinted Pedro’s future would be sorted out soon when he was asked before the club’s Super Cup final clash with Sevilla in Tbilisi.

Speaking on the eve of the match in Georgia, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique claimed the saga was close to being concluded.
