Pittsburgh region gas prices continue to fall
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline reached $2.59 Monday, the lowest since April 30. “I actually have been driving a lot more and traveling”.
“Gas prices are falling with very little resistance”, AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said.
The national average is 87.9 cents less per gallon than a year ago and fell 16.2 cents per gallon in the past month.

According to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report, the average cost of a gallon of the base-grade fuel was at $3.20 on Monday.

An oil price plunge continues to place downward pressure on prices at the pump, according to AAA. Motorists in 35 states and Washington, D.C. have seen prices move lower by double-digit increments over this same period, with the largest drops in price reported in Michigan (-36 cents), Indiana (-32 cents) and Kentucky (-31 cents). Drivers are saving six cents per gallon week-over-week, and 18 cents per gallon month-over-month.
