APJ Abdul Kalam’s last interview to air on All India Radio
The house members of Uttar Pradesh assembly has paid huge glowing tributes to the former president APJ Abdul Kalam on the first day of the assembly.
Leader of Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya said that some people vanish after relinquishing presidential chair but Kalam was always at the top.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav called Kalam a true Indian.
His death was a great loss to India and he was a legend and hero of the country. He was concerned about the State’s development and had made a nine-point presentation on the same, Mr. Yadav said. “Kalam was an inspiring personality who motivated children, youth and seniors alike”.
Later, it was the Samajwadi Party chief who had recommended Kalam’s name for the highest post of the country, the CM said.
He said through his strong will power and hard work, Kalam gave a new identity to India in the field of science and it was because of his rich contribution to various fields that he was conferred the Bharat Ratna. Tributes were also paid by Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Mathur and Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Dalbir Singh.
Again the house will resume on August 17 in which a stormy session is expected with the Supplementary Budget of about Rs.22,000 crore to be presented by the government.
