Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry Supergroup Announce First Live Gigs
The name “Hollywood vampires” references a loose collective of rockers, including Cooper, John Lennon, Harry Nilsson and Keith Moon, who got together in the early Seventies and drink on the Sunset Strip at the Rainbow. In addition to Johnny Depp and the touring version of Hollywood Vampires, the recording sessions also included work from Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Slash, Joe Walsh and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson.
Hollywood Vampires recently revealed details of their self-titled debut album, a star-studded collection of mostly covers tunes that will be released September 11.
Hollywood Vampires, featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry, have announced two shows at Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip venue, The Roxy.
The week after Hollywood Vampires’ Roxy Theatre concerts, the band will play a previously announced set September 24 at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Tickets will go on sale on August. 14 for the September 16 show at http://ticketf.ly/1EdJvSI and September 17 show at http://ticketf.ly/1W5TvIT. According to Rolling Stone, the trio will invite former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver rhythm section Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum to join them. Cooper guitarist Tommy Henriksen will also be playing at the show as will bassist Bruce Witkin, who played with Depp in a band called the Kids.
Before that show, the band will partner with STARKEY HEARING FOUNDATION, an organization that has provided more than 1.8 million free hearing aids to people in need in more than 100 countries, to offer and fit hearing aids to more than 150 people in need.
Hollywood Vampires’ album is out September 11, and all artist proceeds will be donated to MusiCares.
