Alex Trebek Raps ‘Fresh Prince’ Lyrics
Yup, that’s him rapping the theme song to “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.
Now, “Jeopardy” and “Fresh Prince” fans are uploading remixes of the episode, putting Trebek’s rap to the tune of the song, and generally remembering how excellent Will Smith’s version was. If you want pure comedy gold, you’ve got to watch this guy impersonate Sir Ian McKellen singing the Fresh Prince theme (although since the video has been around since 2009, I’m hoping you’ve seen it already).
Okay, to be fair, who hasn’t rapped this song loud and proud roughly 1,000 times? And then…it cannot be. Instead, 74-year-old host Alex Trebek rapped an entire category of clues. “I rolled up to the house about 7 or 8”, he begins to spit, literally making our dreams come true (okay, admittedly, our weirdest dreams, but still, dreams nonetheless).
The contestant ended up answering the question correctly even before Trebek finished his verse, which he did a pretty great job at, I might add, with great inflection and intonation.
