Star Wars Battlefront unveils ‘Supremacy’ mode
Ironically, Dennis happens to be a member of the Battlefield team and can actually confirm the similarities between the upcoming Supremacy mode, and the legendary Conquest game mode from Battlefield. Star Wars Battlefront doesn’t do anything small and Supremacy Mode is no exception. Players will engage in all-out clashes on huge maps with ground troops vehicles, and her characters. The goal is to acquire all five or the majority by any means necessary before the 10 minute round expires. “You can prepare for very heavy and focused Star Wars“. After this is determined, the control points need to be claimed in a set order. TIE Fighters will do the same. With Supremacy, it sounds as if DICE is going for more of a tug-of-war format in which teams only have to worry about capturing and defending a small number of capture points at a time.
Playable characters in Supremacy include Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett. The forest planet of Endor is confirmed in today’s details as being part of the game.
EA DICE introduces “Star Wars Battlefront” during the Sony E3 press conference at the L.A. Memorial Sports Arena on June 15, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Squadron Mode lets players fly classic ships from the Star Wars franchise. Those who pre-order will be able to experience the Battle of Jakku one week early starting December 1; all other players will get access on December 8.
At this past E3 in June, Star Wars: Battlefront generated quite a bit of buzz. It looks like I will be doing the same with Battlefront. At least, as far as the control points go. Call of Duty reached its peak with the first Modern Warfare’s story and has been struggling to reach that level ever since, whereas Battlefield has consistently featured dour, forgettable single-player campaigns that aren’t really worthy of anyone’s time.
Now, to be fair, maybe there is some kind of data out there that indicates that games like this are more popular for their multiplayer than their single-player campaigns. Because this is also published by Electronic Arts, and they have “data” that says you don’t play those silly single-player campaigns.
