D23: Poster revealed for live action Jungle Book
Disney have unveiled a some brand new artwork for the much anticipated live action remake of The Jungle Book – and it looks awesome. That, however, is not the full extent of the preview that we received this morning, as Disney showed off an entire sizzle reel from the 2016 blockbuster.
Disney played a clip from the movie, which is shot entirely in California, for the first time ever exclusively only for its D23 fans leaving Neel who too saw it for the first time saying, “I can’t believe it. That was me!”
Lively also said that narrative changes will be coming to the Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise ride to support the new restaurant.
The Jungle Book is directed yb Jon Favreau (Iron Man), written by Justin Marks, and stars Neel Sethi, Emjay Anthony, Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Christopher Walken, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito, and Lupita Nyong’o. This leads Mowgli to head out into the wilderness with Bagheera, and in the next scene they find themselves cautiously moving though some tall glass.
The familiar sing, Bare Necessities is also featured in the film. Right before the panel started to show the footage, Favreau revealed that “Everything you’re about to see was filmed in downtown LA”.
Taking its cue from both Rudyard Kipling’s original story and the 1967 Disney animated favourite this new Jungle Book blends cutting edge performance capture technology with realistic and CG backgrounds to offer something that looks both lifelike and stylised.
The movie is set to release in April of 2016.
