Here’s what the next ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie will be about
The film is directed by Espen Sandberg & Joachim Rønning and stars Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kevin R. McNally, Kaya Scodelario, Golshifteh Farahani, Stephen Graham, David Wenham and Geoffrey Rush. What’s more, it was revealed that another familiar face will be reprising his role for the latest chapter of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Johnny Depp also took to the stage at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. on August 15 in full Jack Sparrow costume!
It was also confirmed that the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will bring back Orlando Bloom as Will Turner.
The Pirates 5 Orlando Bloom news doesn’t come as a huge surprise, as it’s been rumored and reported for months.
In Dead Men Tell No Tales, Jack Sparrow is in search for the Trident of Poseidon, an artifact that gives the owner complete control over the seas. Are you looking forward to seeing the franchise return, or should it have ended a long time ago? This won’t be easy, however, as his nemesis Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem, will be at his feet. While in character he threw grapes at the audience and generally acted as one might expect a drunk pirate would. But the confirmation of Bloom’s return means he either filmed some scenes in secret, or there’s still more to shoot. Dead Men Tell No Tales has been shooting on Australia’s Gold Coast this summer, and is thought to be nearing post-production.
Depp had even tossed grapes into the D23 audience as his rowdy captain, and was no doubt rubbing the remaining grape juice on Harrison’s clean yellow shirt.
