Woodward Dream Cruise Adds 2016 Chevy Camaro and Volt to its Line-up
The license plate for the classic sports vehicle is, ironically, ITSMY66.
The line-up of NASCAR drivers at the event included: Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney, Helio Castroneves, Simon Pagenaud and Rusty Wallace.
While the manufacturer’s areas for Ford Motor Company and the Chrysler Group are concentrated in one specific area, General Motors actually has three key locations that any Camaro, Chevy or GM fan have to be sure to visit this Saturday at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
“The newer cars are faster”. “In order to take care of a auto properly you need to drive it to keep it as fresh as you can”. He used to cruise Woodward during the summers when he was in high school.
In 15 to 20 years, the guys and gals who grew up during Japan’s golden years of hot imports will be closing in on the same age as the bunch at the local classic cruise-in. “It’s a blast to see kids’ eyes light up as when they see these cars”. And how could they help it? “That one has some cool stories behind it from when we were building it. To have that back, something we raced as a family at that level was pretty neat to have back”.
Banners remind cruisers that Ferndale is the original Dream Cruise city, starting in 1995. The way I see it, much of those classic cars and their owners aren’t going anywhere, and will still be backing up Woodward every August with 1960s and 1970s Chevys, Pontiacs, Buicks and more. This year also marks the second year of the CruisIN’ the D’, a cruise event that takes place south of 8 Mile Road in Detroit, offering the predominantly black community an alternative to the mostly white gathering in the suburbs to the north. With this smaller display being in the heart of the Dream Cruise, I would be blown away if they didn’t have at least one 2016 Camaro on display along with a look at some of the goodies coming for the next gen muscle vehicle.
Detroit’s annual automotive enthusiast extravaganza – which has been keen on honoring the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s will also have the trio of US carmakers showcasing their absolute best.
