LG Brings Curves To Soundbar
The new Music Flow HS8 Wireless Curved Soundbar boasts a 4.1 channel speaker which promises a more immersive audio experience as it projects sound towards a focal point. It’s not the biggest technological achievement for a speaker system, but it sure does go nicely with those curved televisions LG sells. This allows users to not only connect traditional hard-wired sources like a TV, but also utilize Wi-Fi to stream music from iOS or Android devices, PCs, Macs, or Chromebooks over Google Cast.
LG hasn’t yet revealed availability and pricing for the HS8 wireless curved sound bar, but the speaker will be making an appearance at IFA 2015 next month.
LG has announced the newest addition to its Music Flow lineup. That pushes four on-board drivers, as well as the system’s accompanying wireless subwoofer.
LG Electronics’ curved sound bar will be available in October for $699. Simply select the content you want to play from your smartphone and cast it to the HS8 for a lounder sound.
Equipped with full Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the sound bar can integrate into a Music Flow network of speakers with no bridge required to create TV surround sound, using the feature called Home Cinema Mode.
Similarly, Multi-room Mode can be used to turn the entire home into one large-scale sound system. Users can control the music in each room with a single mobile device, enabling them to select a single playlist for the entire house or choose songs on a room-by-room basis.
“As a company that brought to market stunningly looking curved TVs, it’s only natural that we also follow up with a curved audio product to match”, said Min Byung-hoon, senior vice president of the LG Home Entertainment Company’s Consumer Audio Visual division.
Part of LG’s Music Flow family, the accessory measures in at 1200 x 43 x 82mm and is wall-mountable.
