2015-2016 Schedule Released — Sixers News
The Philadelphia 76ers have announced their schedule for the 2015-2016 regular season, and will open on the road against the Boston Celtics on October 28.
They might not be playing on the illustrious Christmas Day or have a nationally televised game this season, but there’s sure to be intrigue for another Philadelphia 76ers season on the horizon.
The Celtics close the season with back to back home games when they host Charlotte on April 11 and then Miami on April 13, two teams that are expected to be in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Wednesday, March 9 vs. Houston at 7 p.m.: The Sixers young frontcourt of Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor locks horns with three-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard. The Celtics open the season with three straight home games, welcoming the Toronto Raptors to town on October 30 and the San Antonio Spurs on November 1. Prized free agent acquisitions LaMarcus Aldridge and David West will help take the onus off the aging core of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginoboli. When the Celts meet the Kings on December. 3 in Mexico City, it will count as Sacramento’s home game. Boston will make the trip south of the border to face off against old friend Rajon Rondo in the midst of a challenging five-game road swing.
Tuesday, December 15 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers – The last time Cleveland was at the TD Garden, it walked off on the winning end of a four-game, first-round playoff sweep.
– The Los Angeles Lakers make their only visit to Boston on December 30, 2015. He won’t be able to have breakfast with Rondo this time around, so he’ll have to settle for a bite around town with Brandon Bass.
February 10 vs Los Angeles Clippers: Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce stop by to visit the city they won a title together in. They will look to reward the Celtics faithful with a win on Fan Appreciation Night, and hopefully they’ll have more in store when the postseason rolls around a few nights later.
February 19 at Utah: Danny Ainge may not be as active on the trade front as he’s been the last two seasons, but the first contest after the trade deadline is always one to circle.
The defending National Basketball Association Champion Golden State Warriors come into town led by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
