Kia Teases Next-Generation Sportage Ahead Of Frankfurt Motor Show Debut
Kia’s next crossover will be presented to the public in less than a month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new model was designed at the company’s European studio in Frankfurt.
Proudly wearing Kia’s TigerNose front grille, new Sportage features interesting Porsche-like headlamps that are mounted on the front fenders.
A largely evolutionary design features through the profile, with a tapered roof and rising belt-line set above subtly muscular wheel arches and door panels.
Kia has given us glimpse of what the new Kia Sportage SUV will look like in a series of official sketches.
The cabin receives a revamped dashboard which appears to borrow certain bits from Optima sedan and Sorento SUV. The attached teaser shows some body-hugging seats, metallic accents, flat-bottomed steering wheel and a large touchscreen display along with red ambient lighting, an automatic transmission and a large central armrest. More details will be available at the time of unveiling.
Kia will likely show us the 2016 Sportage in the following weeks before bringing to IAA while sales will likely kick off before the end of the year. Hyundai’s sister brand has no immediate plans on venturing into India though it is having a tab on the market.
