The body of a woman has been found in a auto boot
Officers were alerted to the dead woman on Thursday night after being tipped off that a body was in the boot of a auto.
The vehicle was then abandoned on a nearby street and the body was discovered in the boot of the auto.
They found a vehicle fitting the description in Claybank Street, Heywood, at 3.50pm yesterday but it sped off, pursued by police.
One ran straight through the pub while the other was detained by police nearly immediately outside.
Officers followed a auto fitting the description given when it was seen in Claybank Street which gave rise to the pursuit – before it was later abandoned by the occupants in nearby River Street.
Two men are being quizzed by police after a woman’s body was found in the boot of a auto. They remain in custody and are facing questioning.
Police are yet to identify the woman involved.
