‘Great fella’ – GAA community rallies behind Ronan Clarke following serious
Former Armagh footballer and two-time All-Star Ronan Clarke remains in intensive care after a serious accident during a club game on Friday night.
He is being treated at Craigavon Hospital and on Saturday his condition was understood to be serious but stable.
Gaelic Life said yesterday that Clarke had made a “significant improvement” and that he was expected to undergo further tests over the next few days.
A spokesperson for Pearse Ogs GAA club said Ronan is making “slow but steady progress” and his family are concentrating on helping him.
Clarke had scored two points before suffering the injury.
The brother of tragic Aaron Devlin, who died last month after contracting meningitis, is among those who have sent messages of support to Clarke.
One of the deadliest forwards in his prime, Clarke was awarded All Stars in 2006 and 2008 in a career that was often hampered by injuries.
