Kelly Rutherford on Custody Battle: My Children’s Voices ‘Have Not Been Heard’
Heartbreaking. Kelly Rutherford opened up about her heartbreaking custody battle in a new interview with Good Morning America on Friday, August 14, telling Robin Roberts about her efforts to keep her kids, Hermes and Helena, in America, while her ex-husband Daniel Giersch wants them in Monaco.
Kelly Rutherford has had another bid to regain custody of her children thrown out. Rutherford only is allowed to have summers with her children and according to the California and New York courts; they have no jurisdiction in the matter.
In her statement hitting out at New York’s Judge Gesmer, Rutherford said: ‘What the judge did yesterday was shocking, illegal, and abusive to my children.
‘Nor did I envision a a judge [of] my own country violating the Constitution and adding to my children’s suffering by indulging his tactics. “Rutherford was forced to say goodbye immediately after the ruling but Giersch’s attorney Ira Garr told Us Weekly that her farewell with the kids was far from dramatic. I was happy the way it ended up happening because they didn’t have to sit in a courtroom and watch it all happen or deal with media or anything that would have been hurtful, I think”.
However, one of the biggest controversies was that the former soap actress initially refused to do so, making the German businessman accuse her of “child abduction”. “It was a done deal”.
“Have you been able to speak with them since they’ve been back with their father?” asked Roberts. “Nobody had heard our argument”.
As Gossip Cop previously noted, Rutherford is scheduled to fly to Monte Carlo next month for another custody hearing. Rutherford referenced she’s got because of the fact that completed at Monaco almost 60 to 70 occurrences.
“Monaco didn’t demand them back, New York just sent them back”, Rutherford said. ‘It was a very odd, you know, odd situation.
