Terrifying moment bull gores to death FOURTH Spaniard in three days
Local authorities are now deciding whether to suspend the week-long town festival.
The young man, who was wounded on Sunday during a bull festival in a village near the northern city of Pamplona, died as he was being taken to hospital, an official from the regional Navarra government told AFP.
A YouTube video of the incident showed colleagues lifting him up in their arms and running with him to an unmanned ambulance parked at the entrance to the bull-ring before desperately calling out for paramedics to arrive.
Over the weekend Jose Alberto Penas, Traspinedo town council member died in Penafiel, north of Madrid, as did an unidentified competitor in Larin, 18, after being gored.
Bull runs are a traditional part of summer festivals across Spain, the most famous being at San Fermin in Pamplona.
He was caught in a bottle-neck of people trying to squeeze through the narrow gap as the bull charged – and tossed up in the air like a rag doll before being dumped on the ground.
Last week a prominent Spanish bullfighter Francisco “Paquirri” Rivera Ordonez was gored in the groin, with the bull’s horn going 25 centimetres deep but missing any vital organs.
Horrific footage has emerged of a 36-year-old man being gored to death during a bull run in Spain after the animal turned on the crowd. Hours later, Rafael Minano’s femoral artery was severed during a similar event in Blanca.
Not only was it the fourth Spaniard killed by bulls in three days – it was the eighth death since the beginning of July.
An 89-year died in August in Gata de Gorgos, Alicante.
