Fallout 4’s Pip-Boy Won’t Work with Larger Phones
The Fallout 4 Collector’s Edition includes a Pip-Boy smartphone mount so you can access the in-game menu via a second screen on your wrist – just like real Vault Dwellers.
The Pip-Boy that Bethesda released a couple of weeks ago was a huge hit.
The phones that are in the clear are for example, the iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5S, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5/4, and any smartphones of relatable size.
As the device works purely on a companion app, players can of course still use the app by itself, but it won’t be as cool as having a fully “working” Pip-boy on your arm. The Pip-Boy Edition contains a wearable Pip-Boy that users can put their phones into to simulate the in-game item, along with a few other physical goodies. This wearable device faithfully replicates the in-game model and comes complete with RobCo Industries stand, custom-printed capsule, adjustable foam cuff, rotating knobs and lights. There will also be a customizable foam insert that will fit “most other popular smartphone devices”. There’s something so damned alluring about the prospect of playing Fallout 4 with a functional Pip Boy attached to my arm.
Fallout 4 and its special edition Pip-Boy will be available from 10 November on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. For fans and gamers in the European area, Bethesda promised updates about the availability of the product some time this week.
