Facebook Wants to Deliver High Speed Internet Through Laser From Drones
A Business Insider report released earlier this week has revealed that the take home salary of social network Facebook’s co-founder, Chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is merely $1 per annum.
During the Q&A, Zuckerberg also said he believes people will be able to communicate telepathically through technology.
“One day, I believe we’ll be able to send full rich thoughts to each other directly using technology“, Zuckerberg, 31, wrote in response to a question Tuesday in a Q&A with Facebook users.
Again, having the ability to literally share experiences is a nice idea would essentially turn the world into a real-life Facebook, with all of the benefits and detriments that entails. Acknowledging the pace at which technology was progressing, Mark said that this feat using Artificial Intelligence could be achieved in the next ten years. Facebook will launch a new messaging system aimed at enhancing it’s social media product to its 500 million users.
For vision, they may be able to recognise everything in an image or video, from people to objects and scenes. Among many other statements he has made regarding communication, such as, his recent claims that telepathy will become reality one day, it’s apparent that he is indeed making attempts to predict the future.
Naturally, the lasers would be of the invisible (and non-death ray) variety, but Zuckerberg posted a few photos of the system with the beams visible for added effect.
Facebook owns several companies and has directed its attention to many areas of communication.
Zuckerberg also answered questions on where Facebook’s website is heading in the future.
On speed / frequency, traditional news is thoroughly vetted but this model has a hard time keeping us with important things happening constantly. It could also help in simplifying the search for particular posts or images that are specific to a person’s interest.
“This will be incredibly powerful as a communication medium”, he said. This won’t replace the longer and more researched work, and I’m not sure anyone has fully nailed this yet.
“Zuckerberg wants FB to be “the primary news experience people have””.
“We are also more informed and can make better decisions collectively as a society”.
Plans to pull that off will use all kinds of modern tech – in addition to lasers, of course – like drones and satellites to carry internet signals, well, everywhere there are people.
