New Zealand PM: McCaw to be offered knighthood
Today Labour leader Andrew Little said the thinks McCaw should be New Zealand’s first president.
Mr Little’s suggestion comes a day after the prime minister said McCaw will be re-offered a knighthood.
The All Black captain lead New Zealand to victory in the 2011 World Cup and was offered knighthood then but turned it down saying that it was not something he wanted while he was still playing.
All Blacks captain Richie McCaw is now the most-capped worldwide rugby player of all time, with 142 tests and counting.

A spokesperson for the Prime Minister later said McCaw would not be focusing on any such recognition at present.
