3 injured in hot air balloon accident in Pennsylvania
Three people were seriously injured when their hot-air balloon hit power lines in southeastern Pennsylvania, police said early Sunday. Mark Willwerth said the top of the balloon got caught up on the power lines as it was deflating.
Willwerth said the injuries were consistent with electrical burns and he did not know the severity of the injuries.
The incident occurred when the pilot was trying to land the balloon in a hay field Saturday night in New Holland in central Pennsylvania.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating, said spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen.
A bystander administered CPR on Davis until the arrival of emergency responders, who found her in cardiac arrest.
Fifty-three-year-old passenger Robert Spencer of Elldersburg, Maryland, and 55-year-old pilot Robert Fisher of Honey Brook were listed as stable. She was listed in critical but stable condition at a trauma center outside Philadelphia, Willwerth said.
