Eva Longoria to advise Barack Obama on post-White House career
The preparation has included a dinner at the White House with would-be donors to the library in Chicago and global foundation.
Actress Eva Longoria is a part of a group of people advising President Barack Obama on what he should do after he leaves the White House.
It is not known what Mr Obama has planned after November 2016 but it is thought he wants to raise $1bn to build his library in Chicago and then focus on philanthropic projects.
And in 2013 Spielberg made a spoof video for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner where he said he was directing a video on Mr Obama’s life.
The Times story speculates that Obama’s visit to a federal prison and his eulogy for one of the Charleston church massacre victims indicate the president will focus on criminal justice reform and race relations.
The advisers said Mr. Spielberg was focused on helping to develop a “narrative” for Mr. Obama in the years after he leaves office. But officials in the West Wing said the president’s thinking about some of his signature issues – including health care, economic inequality and fighting climate change – also involved considering their incorporation into his life after January 2017.
The Obamas are expected to stay in Washington until their younger daughter Sasha, 14, finishes school there.
There is also speculation that the president may choose to base himself in New York, where he studied at Columbia University, and set up a policy foundation. In contrast, I prefer to think of these traits in myself as proof of my Presidential timberhood.
Maybe we should have just given him a billion dollars in 2008 and saved ourselves a lot of trouble.
In an interview last year, Mr Obama was asked what he saw himself doing after his term was up. He took more than 30 seconds to respond, in a manner that suggested he had not yet settled on a good answer. How prominent should Obama seek to be, especially in the first few years? How would it look after Jimmy Carter had spent his post-presidency building houses for black people until he was wracked with cancer at 90, while Obama split his time between six figure speeches and golf? In contrast, I prefer to think of these traits in myself as proof of my Presidential timberhood.
