President Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee breathes her last
After being admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi couple of weeks ago, Suvra Mukherjee, wife of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, passed away at 10:51 am on Tuesday due to respiratory failure. Mukherjee had cut short an official visit to Odisha and returned to the capital after she fell ill.
1940, Surva was married to Pranab Mukherjee when she was 17 years and in their 58 years of marriage they never fought even for a single day, she once said in her interview.
She was a Rabindra Sangeet vocalist and had founded the Geetanjali Troupe.
Besides her love for music, Surva was also a highly talented painter who had many group and solo exhibitions to her credit.
“Her condition is very critical”.
“Suvra Mukherjee died after a cardiac arrest”.
Mrs Mukherjee would have turned 75 next month.
“Saddened to hear that Rashtrapati ji’s wife Suvra boudi is no more”.
“We have to accept the truth”, Banerjee said in post on her twitter handle. She was simple, lovable and a caring housewife.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too extended his condolences.
This time, the doctors were not able to save Mukherjee’s wife. My deepest condolences to Pranab da and family.
