Cilla Black ‘wanted her life turned into West End show’
CILLA Black will reportedly have her life turned into a West End musical.
Brenda, who works on Fred Olsen cruise ships, first heard the news of her death from one of the passengers on board, reports the Newcastle Chronicle.
When asked why presenting had taken a back seat now, Cilla admitted during a “Loose Women” interview that she’d rather see young and attractive people when she switched on TV, later telling The Lady: ‘I’d rather watch Holly Willoughby on TV than me’.
We reckon that this will be the flawless way to honour Cilla following her tragic death.
Actress Joan Collins described her as a “resplendent and rare talent”, while Hollywood actor Russell Crowe said on Twitter: “Thanks for everything Cilla”.
Cilla became known in the late 1980s for her show “Surprise Surprise“, when her controversial decision to sing at the ending of each show divided the nation.
Following the announcement of her death on Sunday afternoon, she was remembered by Sir Paul McCartney who said: “It was a privilege to know and love her”.
“And as always she looked immaculate”.
More details about the funeral will be released soon, he said.
Her life was documented in late 2014 ITV drama Cilla, which starred Sheridan Smith, whose performance earned her a BAFTA nomination.
“She was a very special person, and I have lost a very wonderful friend”.
Before joining the cruise ship entertainment industry, Brenda also worked with Frank Carson, Chubby Brown, Bernard Manning and Bruce Forsyth.
Although Brenda admits Cilla has been a “big part” in her life, she has no plans to retire from performing on the cruises every month.
A publicist for the Blind Date host said on Tuesday: ‘It has just been confirmed by the judge and coroner in Spain the autopsy was conclusive – Cilla Black died of natural causes.
She will then be buried alongside her parents at a private service in Allerton.
