KFC rolling out pink and black chicken sandwiches in Chinese franchises
KFC faces allegations of serving fried rat in California.
You’ll be longing for those good old days after seeing KFC China’s new pink burger buns, as part of the rose cheese roasted chicken leg burger, reports The Nanfang.
KFC, in their wisdom, have decided that the solution to plummeting sales in China are Pepto-Bismol pink buns. “What? OMG, no, get that thing away from me, ahhhh” is probably the reaction you’re having right now and that’s understandable because pink fast food buns aren’t exactly something that most human brains can handle right away.
KFC China’s two new culinary experiments.
The buns come with the “black diamond bacon spicy chicken leg burger” and the “rose cheese roasted chicken leg burger”, each at a price of about $2.80 U.S.
“So it’s a choice between pimples or blackheads”. The chain also recently released a new all-black sandwich in Japan, following the debut of its first black burger last September.
Given these two as options, Mashable described the ebony-hued bun as “downright mouthwatering by comparison” while the pink burger reportedly “looks vaguely nauseating and, at worst, looks like pink slime cotton”.
