Ford Focus ST gets boosted by Ford Performance
The Ford Focus ST is already one of the hottest hot hatches available in North America.
The 2015 Ford Focus ST benefiting from this package will be coming with an extra 23 HP (17 kW) and 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) of torque more than the standard vehicle.
Ford is offering an upgrade kit to its Focus ST owners that it says will boost the compact performance car’s torque.
The upgraded parts are relatively simple.
The kit includes upgraded induction components, including a high-flow air filter and a new intercooler, along with Mountune’s mTune handset and all installation hardware. After the technician adds all the go-fast bits, we imagine a simple flash tune is all it takes to bring power numbers to that 275 HP and 296 lb-ft number.
The heart of the system is a performance ECU calibrated to deliver a more aggressive engine mapping program, including a quicker throttle response, without compromising durability.
It might not be as impressive as the upcoming Ford Focus RS with 345 hp, but it’s nice that current Ford Focus ST owners now have access to a more powerful auto. More details on the kit can be found at the Ford Performance website.
Backing up the Mountune components is our world class, performance ECU calibration engineered to add maximum reliable performance. The performance upgrade kit is the MP275 kit and is designed to work with 93-octane fuel.
